Emily Davis, Board of International Swim Safety
"After working with hundreds of kids and their families we have realized that the confidence we build in the pool translates into EVERYDAY life.
It’s not just about teaching your child to float and not drown; it’s recognizing their potential, introducing them to hard things, and helping them find the confidence that reaches far beyond the pool!"
FAQ
Everything parents ask before they dive in.
Nope — not even close. You'll get short video tutorials to guide you, but this is a hands-on experience built for parents who want to teach their own kids to swim.
With matching flashcards, laminated lesson plans, and easy video access, you learn everything you need and apply it right at the pool. It's one of a kind — real tools, real toys, and confidence-building activities for real-world swimming.
We built this for families where traditional lessons just aren't clicking — busy schedules, water anxiety, no nearby pool, slow progress, or kids with disabilities.
Swim Lessons in a Box gives you a customizable lesson format you can shape around your family, helping kids progress faster while keeping every session fun and low-pressure.
Sixteen swimming skills across two levels, grounded in the foundations of USA Swimming — bubble blowing for breath control, streamline, proper kicking, and basic freestyle.
Water safety is woven throughout, so your child grows into a strong, confident swimmer who knows how to protect themselves in the water.
No — just one box per family. It's designed to be used with multiple children, so siblings can learn right alongside each other.
Two to three times a week is the sweet spot while you're actively working through lessons — but there's no clock running. Go at the pace that fits your life.
Even if you only make it a few times a month, progress still happens. Once your child learns a skill, they'll naturally practice it every single time you get in the water.
Yes, and that's part of the magic — these skills are designed to help you bond with your child while teaching real technique.
Level 1 is all about assisted skills, so a parent or adult needs to be in the water. By the end of Level 2, your child should be an independent, safe swimmer — and you'll get to cheer them on from the side.
Age 3 is our sweet spot. Our method builds genuine internal confidence, and it works best once kids are around three and able to follow simple instructions.
Instead of drilling endless repetition, we focus on fun, critical thinking, and smart water-safety decisions that make sense at this age.
It's built for busy families. There are 24 lessons total, each taking about 15 minutes, with quick 1–5 minute video tutorials.
And you don't need a formal lesson every pool trip — teaching one small skill and then letting kids play is honestly the best way to make it stick.
Each level takes about two weeks with my own students. I've broken it up to be easy to follow, and completing one level within four weeks is a great target.
That said, this is your journey — go at your own pace. The more your child swims, the faster it all comes together.
